Those who had weddings planned, businesses who had ordered in stock and hired extra staff for Valentine's Day celebrations, those visiting loved ones......

Workshops have started again and I’m excited to teach again myself in a few weeks time. I’d love to see you in a class!

How interesting that my top nine posts for 2020 ar

How interesting that my top nine posts for 2020 are mostly those where I’ve shared snippets from my life (and my fur babies....of course!!).

Sometimes it’s hard to know how much of yourself to share on social media. I was a very private person before I got sick. Never opened up to people, never talked about my feelings. It just wasn’t the norm in my world. However, I realised when I started teaching that there were so many others struggling with things that I was (many of them fellow creatives). And by sharing, I was able to help them.
I certainly don’t claim to have all the answers, but I do know that in most cases, a problem shared is a problem halved.

We’ve all had a difficult year in one way or another. I’ve hit rock bottom. I’m starting to slowly bounce back. But I am proud of where I am now. I’m proud that I’ve stayed true to who I am and what I believe in. I am learning to accept that some people won’t understand me or even like me. I’m learning to accept that people don’t ‘feel’ as deeply as I do.
In 2021, I’m committed, as always, to self improvement and reflection. And I’ll continue to share all that as it seems from my top nine, you love hearing about all that too!

To everyone that has sent me messages of support, purchased or admired my work and left comments on socials, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
None of it goes unnoticed and I am truly so grateful.
I’m looking forward to more creative studio time in the new year and I hope you’ll continue to follow my journey.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and were able to have some down time with loved ones.
What a crazy year it's been.

I have been busy pivoting @thewhimsicalbead to survive during COVID and so I haven't spent as much time creating in the studio as I would have liked to.
One of my goals for 2021 is to schedule more regular studio time as I'd love to get back on the torch (doing some more silversmithing) and get back to my polymer clay also. I’ve also got some new things to experiment with!

Whilst 2020 has brought much pain and darkness, it has also brought us a shining light in the form of a little golden miracle.

After letting Indi’s breeder know about her cancer and chatting with her about the year that had been, she called me back a few days later to say my situation had touched her heart and she wanted to offer me a puppy.
We had no intention of welcoming another furbaby so soon after Indi’s passing however, as a beautiful friend told me, sometimes you have to recognise and go with the signs. With waiting lists years long, several other people wanting this particular puppy and logistical challenges...amongst other things, all being overcome....it seemed this was meant to be.

The guilt is still strong as it the grief. I don’t think that will subside anytime soon. I miss my Indi girl so much. But this beautiful, crazy, adventurous girl has made our hearts a little less broken.

Welcome to our world Kenzi Mae.
In the few short weeks you’ve been here have brought us so much happiness. I love you so very much.

Happy Christmas Eve!

What a year it’s been. I want to thank you all for your support. It has kept me going through a big year of loss, pain, physical & mental health issues, financial struggles. This year has also brought along some great positives - huge personal growth, reflection, direction and new connections - and much of that is due to all of the support I’ve received from people like you!

Your purchases, kind words, shares and messages are never taken for granted. I really do appreciate each and every one of them.

I haven’t been as active on this account as I’d like this year as I’ve been busy working on getting @thewhimsicalbead through covid, however I appreciate you sticking with me. I’ve got exciting plans for next year and I hope you’ll join me!

I read something today that really resonated with me, “One can achieve amazing things in their lifetime but it is their kindness and how they made others feel that remain in the hearts of the people they leave behind”.
I think this applies more so this year than ever before. It’s been a tough one for many. I’m so many different ways. I urge you to look around you this Christmas. Ask yourself how you can bring a little joy to someone's life. Even the smallest gesture, such as a smile for a stranger in the street, could make someone's day.
